Lou Pomanti

The achievements of Gemini award winner Lou Pomanti define him as one of Canada's most accomplished composers, musicians, and producers. Lou's original music and performances are featured on soundtracks and recordings which are heard all over the world.

At the heart of Lou's MIDI setup is the Yamaha S90ES. " I researched all the available midi controllers/digital pianos that were out there, and the S90ES was head and shoulders above the rest. The main piano sound is great, the electric pianos are great, and the wealth and range of additional sounds gives me everything I need when travelling with a mobile setup."

His session work has enhanced the recordings of stars as diverse as Canadian icons Michael Buble, Gordon Lightfoot, Anne Murray, Kim Mitchell , George Canyon and countless others. His original scores are featured in all formats. Lou has been the Musical Director for The Juno Awards, The Genies, The Geminis and for five consecutive years The Canadian Songwriters' Hall Of Fame. On these occasions he worked as a peer with illustrious international and Canadian stars: Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Paul Anka, Herbie Hancock, Diana Krall, Michael Buble, Randy Bachman, Burton Cummings and so many more. Lou was awarded a Gemini for his inspired arrangement of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" as sung by opera star Measha Breuggergosman on the Canadian Songwriters' Hall Of Fame broadcast in 2007, and has been nominated for a total of 5 Gemini Awards.
