DC Coordinator

Summary


We are currently seeking a DC Coordinator who will support the National Distribution Manager and Assistant Manager with the daily administration of the Toronto DC.

Key Responsibilities


The key responsibilities of the DC Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Post Delivery Notes daily using SAP.
  • Assist the Assistant Manager and National Manager, Distribution to ensure compliance with Yamaha Policies and Procedures in addition to adherence with documented Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Work with Logistics and Supply Planning to track product deliveries and movement of goods, prioritize shipments, communicate transportation issues to customers, or investigate shipping discrepancies.
  • Update SAP with all physical movement of products between the Toronto DC, Service DC, and Vancouver DC.
  • Respond to dealer inquiries regarding shipment status by collaborating with all internal stakeholders.
  • Call carriers to arrange daily pick-ups.
  • Process labelling requirements as needed, for example Amazon and Best Buy.
  • Resolve and address customer-related issues utilizing internal staff for assistance from the Customer Service and Marketing Departments. Work with departments such as Credit, Marketing, and Transportation to ensure orders are processed in a timely manner or issues are resolved quickly.
  • Coordinate boxing request activities within the DC to ensure all requests are current and up to date. Work with Logistics and Supply Planning to ensure boxing requests are scheduled and completed on time.

Management Backup Responsibilities

In the absence of the Assistant Manager and/or National Distribution Manager, act as back-up by performing the following:

  • Post receiving transactions into SAP, including transfers and shipping.
  • At month-end, ensure all PGIs and PGRs are current and reconciled.
  • Coordinate and prioritize the movement of incoming and outgoing shipments with carrier partners.
  • Assist the National Manager, Distribution in addressing all day-to-day matters.
  • Assist the National Manager, Distribution in promoting a safe work environment that is clean and organized, as well as facilitating a continuous improvement workplace.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Process customer returns (MRR) and sample returns, trade show and open house requests, and exports.
  • Support the Management Team with the growing e-commerce business by assisting with the development and implementation of best practices.
  • Assist in reconciling inventory-related issues based on investigation and research by supporting the Management Team with identifying discrepancies and recommending solutions.
  • Assist the DC Management Team in preparing for the Annual Physical Inventory Count by preparing pre-inventory sheets, creating labels, updating SAP transactions prior to the physical count, and documenting SKUs that cannot be found before and after the physical count.
  • Be willing to work on the production floor at times when there is downtime with office work.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by the National Manager, Distribution or Assistant Manager.

Qualifications and Skills


To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Logistics is an asset.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in a similar role.
  • Proven ability to plan and organize work.
  • Proven track record when it comes to problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Must be flexible, as overtime may be required at times, including month-end, quarter-end, or year-end.
  • Solid work ethic with demonstrated initiative and teamwork.
  • Proven track record for punctuality and reliability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and can work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work effectively with front-line staff and peers.
  • Experience using a forklift and picking or packing orders are considered assets.
