Yamaha PA-300C AC Power Adaptor Recall
Yamaha Canada Music Ltd. ("Yamaha") is voluntarily recalling its YAMAHA PA-300C AC Power Adaptor ("Adaptor") manufactured from July 2010 through May 2012.
CONSUMERS SHOULD IMMEDIATELY STOP USING THE YAMAHA PA-300C AC POWER ADAPTOR AND CONTACT YAMAHA FOR A FREE REPLACEMENT.
How to determine if your PA-300C AC adaptor is affected
This recall is limited to PA-300C AC Power Adaptor manufactured from July 2010 through May 2012 with the words EFFICIENCY LEVEL 'V' and in the Serial Number Range below:

To find the Model, Efficiency Level, and Serial Number please check the label on the back of the adapter. An example of each is shown in red below:
Only the PA-300C AC Power Adaptor is being recalled. The Adaptor was sold with certain digital instruments and musical products listed below and, also, as a replacement part for maintenance and repair services. The Adaptor was not, on its own, sold at retail. In addition, the Adaptor was built-in to certain YAMAHA CLAVINOVA CLP Series and CVP Series digital pianos. (See CLAVINOVA DIGITAL PIANO section.)

IF YOUR ADAPTOR IS NOT BUILT-IN TO CLAVINOVA DIGITAL PIANO
Please take the following steps to validate that you have a PA-300C AC Power Adaptor being recalled:
CONFIRM the MODEL name of the adaptor is: PA-300C
CONFIRM the EFFICIENCY LEVEL is: V
CONFIRM the serial number is within the affected range
If your adaptor is not a PA-300C model or if it is a PA-300C model but does not meet all of the above criteria, your adaptor is not part of this voluntary recall. You may continue to use your adaptor with the appropriate Yamaha product.
If your adaptor is a PA-300C model and meets all the above criteria, please follow the steps below to get your free replacement adaptor.
DESTROY THE AFFECTED POWER ADAPTOR
After validating that you have an affected Adaptor, we ask that you destroy the Adaptor, as outlined below, and submit pictures providing proof of destruction to Yamaha along with your claim:
1. Unplug the Adaptor from the electrical outlet.
2. Disconnect the Adaptor from the digital instrument or musical product.
DO NOT PROCEEED TO STEP 3 UNTIL BOTH OF THE ABOVE HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.
3. Disconnect the AC power cable from the Adaptor.
4. KEEP THE AC POWER CABLE FOR YOUR REPLACEMENT PA-300C AC POWER ADAPTOR.
5. Cut the affected Adaptor cord between the brick and the DC plug, close to the brick, as shown.
6. Take a picture of your Adaptor, LABEL SIDE UP (with the MODEL number, the SERIAL number, and EFFICIENCY LEVEL) showing with the cord cut off.
7. Take a picture of your Adaptor LABEL SIDE DOWN showing the cord cut off.
8. Include BOTH images with your claim submission to Yamaha.
9. Dispose of or recycle the destroyed Adaptor and cord in compliance with your local regulations.
