Tower of Power Anniversary Celebration with Yamaha Canada Music

The Toronto Jazz Festival presents TOWER OF POWER in a very special anniversary concert, celebrating 50 years of YAMAHA CANADA MUSIC on Tuesday, June 25th at DANFORTH MUSIC HALL in Toronto.

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of both Yamaha Canada Music Ltd. and Tower of Power. Yamaha Canada Music opened its doors in 1969, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yamaha Corporation of Japan, selling musical instruments and audio equipment through a network of dealers in every province and territory. Tower of Power was established in 1968, and has since solidified their reputation as a distinctive and influential musical act, playing Soul, Rock and Pop music with "a sophistication and punch like that of a jazz big band".

This musical event is a major highlight of the year-long celebration for Yamaha Canada Music. For 50 years, Yamaha has helped countless Canadian musicians create and enjoy music with a complete line-up of instruments and audio gear that meets the needs of amateurs and professionals alike. The Tower of Power horn section has played Yamaha instruments on stage and in recordings, underscoring the enduring synergy that exists between these two organizations.

The TD Toronto Jazz Festival is one of North America’s premier jazz festivals, with 1500 musicians performing in venues across the city for over 500,000 patrons. Yamaha has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the Jazz Festival, supplying instruments and supporting artists for various events.
