Joan Watson

The entire Yamaha family mourns the tragic loss of Joan Watson.

Joan’s contribution to music in Canada cannot be over stated, and Yamaha is proud to have shared a relationship that dates back over 30 years. 

She was a rare artist and clinician that was always keen to share ideas and collaborate on exciting new projects.  

Yamaha Canada was proud to create a poster of Joan in 2008 – the first female brass player to be featured on a poster in Yamaha’s history. 

As a Yamaha Artist, Joan showed an unrivalled passion for performance and dedication to music education.  This country’s foremost horn virtuoso and educator, Joan leaves behind a musical legacy that will be an inspiration for generations.
