Yamaha to Exhibit 'Passion and Performance' With Game-Changing New Products at the 2014 NAMM Show
Yamaha will introduce a formidable lineup of products under its 'Passion and Performance' theme at the 2014 NAMM Show, to be held January 23 to 26 in Anaheim, California, USA. As the world's largest musical instrument manufacturer, Yamaha adopted the theme to underscore the company's dedication to, and honor for, the instruments and products the company designs and builds. New Yamaha products to be introduced at the 2014 NAMM Show range from new piano sound technology and industry-leading mixing console updates, to best-in-class drums, guitars and band and orchestral instrument offerings.
The Yamaha exhibit will once again fill the Marquis Ballroom at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel, adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center. The company will expand its live broadcast of high-definition video from its display throughout the show at http://www.yamaha.com/namm streaming product spotlights, interviews and other special events direct to computers and mobile devices of music fans throughout the world.
"Our success and longevity as a company is based on the passion we share with creative people who strive to express themselves and make the world a better place through music," said Mr. Hitoshi Fukutome, president, Yamaha Corporation of America. "We constantly push the bounds of technology, as evidenced by our many patents, that not only enable us to make great instruments, but also reinvent entire instrument categories and create new possibilities."
New Pro Audio and Combo products include a new generation of MG Series compact mixing consoles, which include ten flexible models - from six to twenty channels in size - that are suitable for a wide range of both portable and installation applications. The Absolute Hybrid Maple drum set integrates a core ply of harder wenge wood with outer plies of North American maple that produces a drum with an unusually expressive tone and a wide dynamic range. The new L Series acoustic guitars, a revered line of handcrafted models known for their tonal quality, offer fine tone woods and impeccable workmanship, as well as several new innovations that deliver classic Yamaha quality and value.
Steinberg will also display new product offerings in the Marquis Ballroom. Steinberg will feature the brand new Cubase 7.5, the flagship DAW that includes new features, instruments and effects. Steinberg will also launch the UR44, a 6-in, 4-out audio interface loaded with pristine D-PRE mic preamps and 192kHz sample rate recording capability.
On the keyboard side, Yamaha will introduce the U1TA PE Professional Upright Piano, the first instrument of its kind to reproduce all sounds (in addition to the acoustic piano) from the soundboard, rather than from a traditional speaker. This is made possible by Yamaha's proprietary TransAcoustic™ technology, which turns the entire soundboard of the piano into one big "loudspeaker" that can deliver any sound through this naturally resonant component. Yamaha recently introduced the Tyros5 Arranger Workstation keyboard, the most powerful keyboard on the market today, is the ultimate instrument for composing, arranging and performing music. It is available for the first time in 76-note or 61-note models.
Yamaha's new series of Custom Xeno Bb Trumpets feature revamped valve casings and bells, which provide a powerful tonal core and more precise slotting in the upper register, and newly designed leadpipes. Also new are redesigned SILENT Brass™ Systems with Brass Resonance Modeling™ technology. The company's new line of "reinvented" professional flutes contain a hand-finished, sterling silver A-cut headjoint that provides rich, colorful tone and a wide, dynamic range.
Added Mr. Fukutome, "'Passion and Performance' embody the essence of Yamaha in every product we build, every customer that we serve, and every music lover we delight. We look forward to a spectacular NAMM show, and to showcase our newest product offerings for the world."
