MusiCounts Announces 200K in Grants for Community Music Programs
MusiCounts has joined together with TD to expand programming designed specifically to create opportunities for youth in underserved communities across Canada. MusiCounts TD Community Music Grants will provide musical instruments and equipment to community centres, after-school programs and other non-profit organizations serving local communities. These grants will have the potential to be transformational, impact thousands of young Canadians and support diverse music programs in communities from coast to coast.
The grants will be distributed in allotments ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 and in total, $200,000 in grants will be awarded to selected recipients.
The MusiCounts TD Community Music Grant recipients will be selected based on economic need of the non-profit/charitable organization; number of youth impacted by the music program; dedication of pre-existing staff & facilities to house/manage the music program and overall impact the MusiCounts TD Community Music Grant will make within the local community.
Grant applications are being accepted starting Feb 14, 2013, with a submission deadline of May 15, 2013.
