Yamaha Showcases New Products, Technology, and Services at the 2012 NAMM Show

Yamaha showcases new products, technology, and services at the 2012 NAMM show, the largest musical industry trade convention in the United States. Yamaha’s main display fills the spacious Marquis Ballroom at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel, adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center, from January 19 to 22, 2012.

In addition, Yamaha is streaming live, high-definition video from the booth throughout the show at www.yamaha.com/namm. This year, Yamaha provides product spotlight interviews and image galleries on-demand, along with an interactive three-dimensional booth panorama that is controllable by viewers over the Internet in real time via desktop and laptop computers, as well as mobile phones and tablets.

“NAMM is an important venue to meet with dealers and customers, who provide valuable feedback that we use to improve our services, instruments, and sound reinforcement equipment. Yamaha makes certain we stay in tune with the market, our dealers, and the end-user customer,” said Mr. Tak Nakata, president, Yamaha Corporation of America.

The Keyboard product area displays the NU1 hybrid piano, the EZ-220, which interfaces with the Apple iPad to offer a new way to learn how to play, and the YDP-C71PE digital piano, the first in the ARIUS brand series with a polished black finish. In addition, Yamaha features demonstrations of Yamaha’s remarkable Remote Live technology, where a pianist plays selections on a Disklavier located off-site while another Disklavier at the booth in Anaheim reproduces the performance in real time.

Yamaha Guitars introduces new concept amplifiers, THR5 and THR10. Its compact, yet guitarist-approved interface will be a perfect rig off the stage. Yamaha Drums rolls out the sturdy, yet lightweight Hex Rack II system and unveils new colors for Recording Custom and Stage Custom.

The Band & Orchestral area highlights the 6300 Power Lite Series of marching drums along with the 8000 Series of concert toms. The area also displays new acoustic conditioning panels.

Yamaha Music Production and Pro Audio showcase the computer-compatible 01V96i digital mixing console and groundbreaking DXR active speakers, DXS active subwoofers, and two MGP premium mixing consoles. The compact, yet powerful DXR/DXS line is showcased with a multimedia presentation in a specially designed demonstration room.

Yamaha will also show off several innovative iPad and iPhone applications for keyboard players, including NoteStar, which provides sheet music and backing audio that creates a compelling learning environment.

The Steinberg booth, located on the main floor of the convention center, will exhibit two major product lines, including the CMC Controllers for Cubase and the UR Series USB2.0 audio interface.
