Yamaha Grade Examinations

In 1987, Yamaha Canada began the introduction of the Yamaha Grade Examination System (YGE). Yamaha grades are numbered in descending order, with 13 as the lowest and 1 as the highest. Grades 13 -- 6 are student grades and Grades 5 -- 3 are for teachers and advanced students. In the last ten years, more than 12,000 teachers and students across Canada, have successfully completed these exams.
