Tony Padalino
Biography
aving studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Tony Padalino pursued studies in Theory & Composition, Orchestration, History, and arranging with renowned professors William Andrews, Dr. Roman Toi and Dr. Samuel Dolin. He later studied jazz with Bernie Senensky.
Tony Padalino started touring Canada with his own progressive rock band, featuring many of his original compositions. Later, he performed on several concerts/tours with many recording artists bringing him across Canada, United States and Europe.
As a studio musician, Tony's sessions range from jingles, themes, and bumpers for both radio and TV. As a composer, Tony has had his music showcased in several feature films, both American and Canadian. He has produced and arranged several recording projects for different artists, and has had his own originals recorded by other artists.
Tony is best known as being the keyboardist on Canada's longest running national late night talk show, Open Mike with Mike Bullard. During this long run, Tony backed up international artists, composed many of the shows popular bumpers, and was featured in weekly comedy sketches. The award-winning program had a total of 25 airings each week, pulling in a weekly audience of two million Canadians. This acclaim led to other TV credits including Canadian Idol, Canada's Walk of Fame, the NHL Awards, Hockey Night in Canada, Stars on Ice, and the CFL Awards to name a few.
Currently, Tony's set-up includes the Yamaha Motif XS-7 as his main board.
