JOC Music Camp Held in Banff

Attentive young campers take the first step to becoming drummers.

Nestled amid the rugged Rocky Mountains of western Canada, the Banff Centre for the Arts is a unique facility designed to nurture creativity and develop the arts. From July 5–7, Yamaha Music Education System students from across Canada (plus a guest from the U.S.A.) took in this wonderful atmosphere at the Yamaha Canada Music Ltd. (YC)-sponsored 5th Junior Original Concert (JOC) Music Camp. Students and teachers attended intensive workshops with topics even extending to Cubase™ music software.

The camp was concluded by JOC in the Margaret Greenham Theatre, where 42 of the students performed their own compositions in front of a full audience. The wide mountain vistas provided the perfect backdrop for the camp and a fitting environment for creating a richer life through experience with Yamaha.
