Yamaha AW2816 MIDI Remote Template

Thank you for using Yamaha products.

AW2816 -- Remote -> Sonar

Installation
This template is stored in bulk MIDI data format. To install the template, use a MIDI sequencer to send the "sonar.mid" bulk data file to the AW2816. See chapter 13 of the AW2816 owner's manual "MIDI -- Sending the AW2816's internal settings via MIDI (Bulk Dump)" for information on receiving bulk data.

Function Overview
This template allows you to control Cakewalk SONAR operations from the AW2816.

Features
This template makes it possible to control change data for tracks selected in SONAR directly from the AW2816.

Operation Procedure
1. Using a MIDI cable, connect the MIDI OUT/THRU terminal of the AW2816 to the MIDI IN terminal of the MIDI interface used by SONAR.

2. The settings in SONAR will activate the MIDI IN device of the MIDI interface connected to the AW2816.

3. The data output via remote control from the AW2816 affects only the currently selected tracks in SONAR. First select the tracks you want to edit, and then carry out any remote control operations.

The control change output assigned to the ON/OFF button is for sending a predetermined control change value (ex. Returning the pan pot to its center value during performance). Feel free to change the default value of each button to match your editing environment. Also, when you push the 8 ch ON/OFF button (note on), audio (C3) will be output. Please confirm the edited content.

Please be aware that for audio tracks, some functions are limited.
